Christmas Highlights

Hello everyone! I hope each and every one of you had a blessed Christmas and holiday season!

This last week has been crazy busy! Funny how weeks like that either fly by or feel like it’s been more like a month because you’ve had so much going on! It’s wonderful to be back on the blog — I’m enjoying catching up on posts as well as catching my breath!

We had a great Christmas season — how to sum it all up?

Wonderful memories, cozy evenings, playing in the snow, running errands like crazy, eating way too much sugar (still having some trouble looking at my sugar canister), getting way too little exercise (needs to go on my New Year’s resolution list), a 24-hour flu bug paying a visit, losing one of my daughter’s Christmas gifts (which turned into a scavenger hunt), frantically trying to find my daughter’s lost Christmas gift with the help of Jonathan (which turned into Jonathan finding his Christmas gift early!), trying to coax the chickens out of their coop (still working on that one!), Christmas caroling, a beautiful Christmas Eve Candlelight service and many moments of gratitude for all of God’s many blessings!

    1. Aww .. that is so sweet! Wish we could share some of our snow with your son! 😉 I can really relate to that chicken dreaming of spring … lol. A very Happy New Year to you as well! 🙂

      1. Oh, he would be thrilled! He was so happy when he saw your post. 😀 Oh, yes! Me too. 😀 I love spring. Thank you so much.

        1. So sweet! I know my girls feel the same way when we don’t receive much snow (or any at all) 😉 I love spring, too … really excited to get back in the garden! 😀

          1. I know what you mean. 🙂

  11. I can identify with that chicken, and we haven’t had any snow, or really cold weather, here yet. I can’t say I blame the chickens for wanting to stay in their coop when it’s so cold underfoot. It’s funny how hectic Christmas can be, especially when we prepare so long for it. There are always some things that can go wrong, and although I smiled at your list of memories, flu and mislaid gifts probably didn’t seem too funny at the time. Happy New Year,Anna! 🙂

    1. Yes, I can’t say I blame the chickens, either. 🙂 We’ve made a little trail for them, and with the snow slightly melting, the chickens have been venturing out of their coop now. They come up to the back of the house for their treats. 😉 Yes, isn’t that so true? For the amount of time we spend planning for Christmas, there always seems to be something to get done. Lol. Even with all the adventures, we had a lovely Christmas and hope you did as well, Millie! 🙂 Happy New Year, dear friend!

      1. I thoroughly enjoyed reading about alll the things you did this Christmas. It’s lovely to know how everyone celebrates this festive time. This post made me laugh, too, and I love to read humorous posts. 🙂

        1. Thank you so much, Millie! I love to hear about everyone’s Christmas traditions and celebrations as well! It makes me feel as though I’ve been able to have a little visit in that country with a new friend. 🙂 I’m glad the post made you laugh — I love to read humorous posts as well! 😉

          1. It’s lovely to have connected with you this year, Anna, Thank you for being one of my “bloggy friends” as they say! I really enjoy reading your posts, but I do tend to get behind with things, at times, especially when I need to get on with my book. 🙂

          2. I’m so delighted to have met you, Millie, and so happy to be “bloggy friends!” 🙂 I enjoy your posts so much as well!
